  1. Can the pattern be adapted to use magic loop method rather than dpn or would it need dpn. I don’t have or have never used dpn but I know how to do the magic loop method and have used it to replace using dpns before

  2. Davina, I came across this pattern and was excited. I love a simple raglan sweater. I am wondering if you could recommend a cotton yarn. I would really love to knit this in cotton instead of wool.

    Thanks, Jennie

  3. Hello. I love my Everyday Raglan and wear it all the time. But I’ll only wear it at home because the sweater pills so bad. I used the recommended yarn – Cascade Ecological Wool. The sweater has been hand washed twice. I’ve “shaved” the sweater and hand picked the pills, but it’s a continual issue. I’m curious if other people have had the same experience with this yarn.

  4. Hi! Can I knit this sweater for a man? I was thinking of making my first knitted piece of clothing a present for my husband

    1. If the raglan’s finished measurements align with your husband’s size (or the measurements of the sweaters he normally wears) then you can use this pattern.

  5. Hi Davina,
Oh I can’t say how much I have made progress in knitting. Thanks so much you are best teacher . You should put out more content. Your eager fans are always waiting. Your fun way of teaching makes it all the more easy. I’m yet to make sweaters but I have already made a lot of hats, mittens and slippers. Love you so much. Keep up the good work!

  6. Hello Davina,
I bought the Raglan pattern July 8th and accessed the pdf and tutorial video. I thought I had printed the pdf but can’t find it. I downloaded the pattern but cannot now access it. ‘Access denied’ message on the page when I try to open it. No problem with the video. Is there a way you can make the pdf available for me to print?

    Thank you

  7. Hi Davina, I am a new knitter and love your site. Thanks for all you do! If I need to substitute the wool yarn in this pattern, what would you suggest? Thanks so much!!

  8. hello I am wondering if the yarn is scratchy or coarse?and did the yarn pill/fuzz ? can you wear this next to the skin ?and do you use 8 inch dpn or 6? thank you so much 🙂

  9. hello I have an interchangeable set with36 and 29 length needles I will probably knit one of the smaller or smallest size which should I use? also is this yarn scratchy/coarse?can it be worn next to the skin comfortably 🙂

  10. I accidentally forgot the kfb for at the end, and didn’t notice for 4 rows. Is there anyway to save my work, or do I have to start all over again? I’m at the Repeat rows 3 & 4 part x 5 for 118 sts.

  11. Hello Davina, I am a huge fan of your site and you have a real knack for reaching knitting! Thank you! So, I am considering purchasing the raglan pattern after knitting numerous hats, scarfs, shawls and ready (maybe) for something new. I know you use the double pointed needles but could you use those newer circular needles that have come out that are smaller? Please let me know your thoughts. Thank you.

  12. Hi Davina, I just wanted to say thank you. This sweater will be my first proper project, but I’m not there yet. I thought I couldn’t knit, but then I watched your YouTube tutorials and here I am, making lovely little squares and practicing different stitches! I love the fact you have set out above the skills and tools you need to be confident in before attempting this sweater, it’s set my mind on learning knitting with circular needles next, and it’ll be your video I watch to learn. Thanks again!

  13. HI Davina,

New to the knitting community :). Everything I learned about knitting so far is from your YT channel. I spent many hours learning from you. Your patience, very detailed and slow traching, and super positive attitude made me not lose my mind and believe I can do anything when I was starting my knitting journey and was super awkward. I have knitted the garter scarf, the coasters, the slippers, the headband, the flat knitted hat. I feel ready to take on my first sweater and it’s only right that my first sweater will be knitted under your guidance as well. Super excited to start working on my first raglan <3.

    Thanks for being awesome!

  14. Hi!
What should what I do about my gauge swatch because I used 4,5 mm needles and it gave me 18 stitches in 22 rows then I tried 5 mm which gave me 17 stitches and 19 rows. I also tried 5,5 and 6 and nothing work out. Thank you for your help.

    1. Hi, if you’re able to get 17 sts and 19 rows with 5mm needles, I would try 5.5mm needles. Then block the gauge swatch. Once it’s wet you can easily manipulate the swatch to meet the gauge. Because it’s wet it’s more malleable, so stretch it our push it closer together to manipulate the stitches and rows. Hope that makes sense!
