Simple, understated, effortless. A raglan is all of these things and more! Best of all for beginners, a raglan is one of the easiest sweaters to knit. It might not look that way, but the raglan is the perfect first sweater project! Knit entirely in one piece (which means no seaming), you’ll be able to try on the Everyday Raglan as it’s being knit up. How cool is that?
Is the Everyday Raglan right for you? You’ll need to be familiar with these six techniques before getting started: knitting, purling, casting on, knitting on double pointed needles, knitting on circular needles, and casting off. Not sure how to do them? Check out Learn to Knit and Knit with Double Pointed Needles. Then come back when you’re ready!
The Everyday Raglan pattern includes a 4-part video tutorial that walks you through the entire knitting process, from cast on to cast off. Clocking in at a little over two hours, these comprehensive video tutorials cover everything from knitting a gauge swatch in the round, increasing the neckline, charting decreases, picking up neckline stitches, and, oh so much more!
